Pythagorean Numerology

The most common Western system, assigning 1–9 to letters in alphabetical order and wrapping around after 9.

What it means

Pythagorean numerology gives each letter a value from 1 to 9 by walking the alphabet in order: A is 1 through I is 9, then J starts again at 1, and so on. It is the default system in Numity for Life Path and date work, and the usual starting point for name numbers in the West. Its appeal is its simplicity and transparency: the value of any letter is easy to check by hand. Where it differs from Chaldean is only on name-derived numbers; anything calculated from the birth date stays the same across both systems.
