Every term you'll meet in numerology, defined plainly and accurately. The same definitions Numity's engine runs on.
- Angel Number
- A repeating digit sequence such as 111 or 444 that people notice in daily life and read as a symbolic message.
- Attitude Number
- The reduced sum of your birth month and day, describing the first impression and energy you give off.
- Balance Number
- The reduced sum of the initials in your name, suggesting how you tend to steady yourself during stress or upheaval.
- Birthday Number
- The day of the month you were born (1–31), read as a specific talent or gift you bring to your Life Path.
- Capstone
- The last letter of your first name, read as a clue to how you follow through and complete what you start.
- Chaldean Numerology
- An older letter-to-number system using values 1–8 grouped by sound, where 9 is never assigned to a letter.
- Challenge Number
- One of four numbers from the differences between parts of your birth date, naming a recurring difficulty to grow through.
- Cornerstone
- The first letter of your first name, read as a clue to how you approach new situations and opportunities.
- Expression Number
- Also called the Destiny number, it comes from every letter of your full birth name and reflects your natural talents and outward direction.
- Hidden Passion Number
- The digit (or digits) appearing most often in your name, pointing to a strong, repeated talent or drive.
- Karmic Debt Number
- The totals 13, 14, 16, and 19, flagged when they appear as the two-digit step just before a number reduces to a single digit.
- Karmic Lesson Number
- Any digit 1–9 entirely missing from the letters of your name, pointing to a quality you may be learning to develop.
- Life Path Number
- The number drawn from your full birth date that describes the overall arc and lessons of your life.
- Master Builder
- The traditional nickname for the master number 22, seen as the most powerful of the master numbers.
- Master Number
- The numbers 11, 22, and 33, which Numity leaves unreduced in core positions because they carry their own heightened meaning.
- Maturity Number
- The reduced sum of your Life Path and Expression numbers, describing a theme that tends to come into focus in later life.
- Personal Month
- A 1–9 sub-cycle within your Personal Year, found by adding your Personal Year number to the current calendar month.
- Personal Year
- A 1–9 cycle for the current calendar year, combining your birth month and day with the year to suggest its overall theme.
- Personality Number
- Drawn from the consonants in your name, it reflects the first impression and outer self that others tend to notice.
- Pinnacle Number
- One of four life-stage numbers derived from your birth date, each describing the dominant theme of a long chapter of life.
- Pythagorean Numerology
- The most common Western system, assigning 1–9 to letters in alphabetical order and wrapping around after 9.
- Reduction
- The core technique of repeatedly adding the digits of a number until a single digit remains, stopping early on master numbers.
- Soul Urge Number
- Drawn from only the vowels in your name, it points to your inner motivations and what you most deeply want.
- Subconscious Self Number
- A number from 9 minus the count of your Karmic Lessons, reflecting how confidently you respond to the unexpected.
- Universal Year
- A single 1–9 number for the calendar year shared by everyone, found by reducing the digits of the year itself.
